David is a trainee accountant in the audit and accounts team. He joined Gilberts in May 2025 and is now part-qualified, studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification.
David assists with audits and the preparation of year-end accounts for clients across a wide range of industries, and appreciates the variety this work offers. He works closely with clients at each stage and particularly values building a rapport with them, developing those relationships as he progresses through his training.
He took an indirect route into accountancy, working first as a freelance trombone player and then as a bar manager and mixologist. Outside work he is a keen cyclist, and once bikepacked more than 2,000km to Bilbao, which he still insists was a holiday.
